After nearly two decades, the Moe’s Southwest Grill outside Rehoboth Beach has closed. There was no announcement. Instead, a small sign announced the closure. It reads, “Location closed for good. Thank you for your patronage.”
Moe’s is located off Route 1 in the Shops at Sea Coast development, which is home to Safeway and First State Brewing. It opened in July 2006 and underwent a five-week renovation in 2021.
In addition to a menu that featured Southwest cuisine and fresh ingredients, Moe’s is known for staff shouting, “Welcome to Moe’s,” when guests enter the front door.
This is the second restaurant to close in this strip mall in the past couple of months. Hammy’s Burgers & Shakes, located a few doors down, closed earlier this year. Dewey Beer Co.’s Pizza Machine has already announced it’s taking over the burger spot. There is no word on what might be coming to the Moe’s location.
