When Anthony Cantiello became a trainer and manager of his local gyms, he realized that something was wrong with some tried-and-true concepts. He said recent trends in the fitness industry upset him.

“I can’t stand the fact that people get charged so much money for things that aren’t worth it,” Cantiello said. “Trainers can cost up to $100 an hour. You only get one workout from that.”

After serving three years in the U.S. Army, he knew what he wanted to do. Cantiello moved to Sussex County in September and began working on Shore Thing Fitness, a gym that’s looking to break away from expensive and time-constraining standards.

“From being a trainer, you start to hear the same excuses as to why people can’t work out,” he said. “They don’t have the time, they don’t know what to do, or it’s ridiculously expensive. So we built the gym to fulfill those needs.”

The concept is simple: Shore Thing Fitness creates a program for each week, with a circuit-based workout daily. Each workout only takes 30 minutes, and a trainer is always present and able to work with each customer, helping them complete the exercises correctly. These factors create a short, effective and hands-on experience with competitive prices.

There’s no need to worry about scheduling. As long as Shore Thing is open, a trainer will be ready to guide clients through the daily workout and adjust it to satisfy each client’s fitness goals.

“The dream is to create a community here,” Cantiello said. “We just want to help you achieve your goals and know you on a first-name basis.”

Shore Thing Fitness is now open at 21133 Sterling Ave #9/10 in Georgetown. For more info, call 302-858-4412 or visit shorethingfitness.net.
