Beebe Healthcare welcomed four resident doctors July 10 during its third annual White Coat Ceremony welcome reception in Lewes.

Dr. David Tam, president and CEO of Beebe Healthcare, told the residents that choosing to be a medical doctor is a commitment. Beebe has worked to attract more doctors to the hospital as part of its strategies to meet the region’s growing healthcare needs.

“I can’t think of a better thing to do,” he told the four resident doctors – Javed Akhtar, Fiza Fatima, William Kang and Pranav Tiyyala.

Dr. Jeffrey Hawtof, director of medical education, thanked the four for choosing the field of family medicine.

“If we only teach you one thing, it’s to love family medicine,” he said.

Also introduced at the ceremony were core clinical campus students Vincent Bulzoni, Tyler Kung, Sarah Shugar, Justin Trueira and Vincent Vozzella.
