Rehoboth parking committee to meet April 22
The Rehoboth Beach Parking Advisory Committee will meet at 1 p.m., Monday, April 22, in the commissioners room of city hall, 229 Rehoboth Ave. The agenda calls for continued discussion of a proposed parking garage and of new initiatives for the group moving forward. The Rehoboth working group studying utility rates in Rehoboth will meet at 1 p.m., Thursday, April 25, in the commissioners room of city hall, 229 Rehoboth Ave. The agenda calls for continued discussion of a proposed rate structure for water and wastewater rates. For more information, call 302-227-6181. Milton Sustainability Committee to meet April 23
Milton Sustainability Committee will meet at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 23, at Milton library. The committee will continue discussion of the town’s draft sustainability plan and begin discussion on a resolution regarding solar panels and electric charging stations, including the scope of work and a research approach. The committee will also discuss a possible donation of tote bags to the Milton Food Pantry.

Census job fairs to begin April 26 at library
The Lewes Public Library will hold three job fairs for the 2020 Census, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday, April 26; 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 30; and 4 to 6 p.m., Tuesday, May 21. Counting everyone in the United States and five U.S. territories is a massive undertaking. It constitutes the nation’s largest peacetime workforce mobilization.

The Census Bureau is hiring hundreds of thousands of people in communities across the country to assist with the 2020 count. Representatives from the United States Census Bureau will be on-site to assist prospective employees with the application process. Applications are available in both English and Spanish.

Open positions include recruiting assistant, census field supervisor, office operations supervisor, enumerator (local counter), and clerk. All positions are temporary and have flexible hours. Pay rates range from $15 to $21 per hour. For more information on specific job descriptions, visit 2020census.gov. No appointments are necessary, but application assistance will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

Board of adjustment cancels Milton meeting
Milton Board of Adjustment has cancelled its Tuesday, April 23 meeting. The meeting was cancelled due to a lack of agenda items.

Sussex offices closed; no council meeting
Sussex County government offices will be closed Friday, April 19, in observance of Good Friday. In addition, Sussex County Council will not meet Tuesday, April 23. The next regularly scheduled council meeting is at 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 30, in the county administration building, 2 The Circle, Georgetown.

RSVP by April 23 for justice forum April 24 
The Eastern Sussex Democrats monthly meeting will host three guest speakers to provide insight on Delaware’s criminal justice system Wednesday, April 24, at the Atlantic Sands Hotel Ballroom, 1 Baltimore Ave., Rehoboth Beach. Attorney General Kathy Jennings will address internal reforms that have already been implemented and highlight the status of 19 bills introduced in the General Assembly. Also on the agenda are Paulette Rappa, executive director of The Way Home, and Alonna Berry, founder and chair of the Bryan Allen Stevenson School of Excellence.

The meeting will begin with registration and social hour from 5 to 5:45 p.m. followed by a buffet dinner and speakers. Cost is $25 per member, $30 for nonmembers. Attendees may also join or renew their membership at this meeting. The annual dues are $30, and all membership fees go directly to Democratic candidates and their campaigns. Lewes greenways to host April 20 meeting
The Lewes Greenways and Trails Committee will meet at 9 a.m., Saturday, April 20, at the Net House at Canalfront Park. The group will discuss the Greenways Master Plan and receive an update on Green Hill Light site photos. For more information, call city hall at 302-645-7777.

Lewes annexation group to meet April 22
The Lewes Annexation Regulation Committee will meet at 10 a.m., Monday, April 22, at the Rollins Community Center. The group will finalize its discussion on cluster options and discuss development in the flood plain, impervious surfaces, trees and building height within the annexation-residential zone. They will then begin work on changes to the annexation-mix zoning district. For more information, call city hall at 302-645-7777.

Community Clean to be held April 19-22
The Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce will host a Community Clean in celebration of Earth Month from Friday to Monday, April 19 to 22. In partnership with Keep Delaware Beautiful and Waste Management, groups and individuals are invited to adopt and clean a section of roadway throughout coastal Sussex County. Participants can clean up the roadways wherever they see a need, or can be assigned to an area in need.

Bags, gloves, and other equipment will be provided to participants and can be picked up at the following locations: Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday and Sunday; Dagsboro Town Hall, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Thursday; Millville Town Hall, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday; Selbyville Town Hall, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Thursday. Free disposal is available, and complete details will be provided to participants via email. Those interested in participating can sign up at www.thequietresorts.com. Hearing on assisted living April 22 in Lewes
Lewes Mayor and City Council will hold a public hearing at 6 p.m., Monday, April 22, at the Rollins Community Center. The hearing will address a proposed assisted-living facility on the parcel known as the Beebe property on Kings Highway near Cape Henlopen High School. Dewey meetings to air live on Radio Rehoboth
Dewey commissioners voted unanimously April 13 to permit Radio Rehoboth to live broadcast commissioners’ meetings on station 99.1 FM. Radio Rehoboth General Manager Jeff Balk said the station will begin live broadcasting monthly meetings starting with the Saturday, May 11 meeting.  

Republican Women to meet April 24 
The Sussex County Republican Women’s Club invites the public to its meeting at 6 p.m., Wednesday, April 24, at the Sussex County Association of Realtors office, 23407 Park Ave., Georgetown. Guest speakers will be Rep. Tim Dukes, R-Laurel, and Sen. Brian Pettyjohn, R-Georgetown. Spring cleaning to begin April 22 in Dewey
Two dumpsters will be available at Dewey Beach Town Hall, 105 Rodney Ave., from Monday, April 22 to Monday, May 6, for property owners and residents to dispose of natural yard waste and bulk waste. Residents must ensure items are separated into correct dumpsters, and plastic bags are not permitted in the natural yard waste dumpster. Electronics, paint, tires, appliances, hazardous waste/freon and combustible materials are not permitted in either dumpster.
