County libraries allow limited computer access

Beginning Monday, Sept. 28, the three county-owned libraries – Greenwood, Milton and South Coastal – will allow the public to use computers and access other digital offerings by appointment only and limited to one hour, with stations socially spaced and cleaned after each use. Guests must call ahead to reserve an appointment, and will be subject to wellness screenings and temperature checks upon arrival. Masks will be required. Since early summer, county libraries, as well as the 11 independent facilities, have offered curbside service for patrons to check out and return books and other materials. Additionally, libraries throughout the county have offered free wireless broadband internet service outside their facilities for the public to use. Those services remain in effect. Dewey Beach municipal election Sept. 26

Three candidates are running for two seats in Dewey Beach’s 2020 Municipal Election: Commissioner David Moskowitz, Commissioner Gary Persinger and town budget and finance Chair Bill Stevens. Town Hall will be open for absentee voting from 10 a.m. to noon, Friday, Sept. 25. Rehoboth Board of Adjustment to meet

The Rehoboth Beach Board of Adjustment will hold an online meeting at 1 p.m., Monday, Sept. 28. There are three hearings scheduled. The first is a request for variances to allow a reduction of the frontage requirement and relief from the requirements that the lot must be able to contain a rectangle of 4,000 square feet. The property is where Robin Hood Restaurant is located, 54 and 56 Rehoboth Ave. The second hearing is a request for variance to allow a reduction of the parking space minimum requirements from two spaces to one space for a dwelling or dwelling unit. The property is located at 143 Rehoboth Ave. The third hearing is a re-hearing for the proposed hotel at 19 Baltimore Ave. The appellant is appealing the building inspector’s interpretation of gross floor area as it pertains to the calculation of floor-to-area ratio. Rehoboth shade tree commission to meet

The Rehoboth Beach Parks & Shade Tree Commission will meet virtually at 11 a.m., Monday, Sept. 28. The agenda has an administrative appeal hearing requested that pertains to a determination of an appeal for a fee in lieu of mitigation and/or approval of proposed non-native tree plantings. Special Rehoboth meeting set Sept. 29

Rehoboth Beach commissioners will hold a special virtual meeting at 3 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 22. The agenda calls for a discussion on strategies and the path forward in addressing the COVID-19 pandemic. Lewes bike and ped committee to meet

The Lewes Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety Committee will meet virtually at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 29. The group will discuss the bike ambassador program, the city’s bicycle-friendly community rating, and safety issues such as stencils and bollards. Sussex council meeting time changed to 1 p.m. Sussex County Council will meet at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 29, in the county administration building, 2 The Circle, Georgetown. DMHOA virtual meeting set Sept. 28 

The Delaware Manufactured Home Owners Association will hold a virtual general membership meeting via conference call at 6:30 p.m., Monday, Sept. 28. To phone in to the meeting, dial 978-990-5000 and enter access code 907460#. For best reception use a land line. Attendance is open to anyone living in manufactured housing on leased land. DMHOA is a nonprofit organization and the only legislative advocate representing the interests of manufactured housing homeowners living on leased land in Delaware. DART Paratransit resumes ticket, cash fare collection

Paratransit riders can once again pay their fare using tickets and cash. The option to be billed for trips will no longer be available. Customers are encouraged to use DART Pass, the mobile fare payment app, for a contactless payment option. The free app is available for download at the Apple Store and Google Play. In addition, the DART Transit app offers the Paratransit ETA feature, which lets paratransit customers know when their ride will be arriving; visit the Apple Store or Google Play for the free app. DART continues to limit the number of passengers allowed on each bus at any given time, based on bus seating capacity. Riders must wear face coverings when riding any DART bus, fixed route or paratransit. Those not wearing face coverings will not be allowed to board the bus. Children 12 years and under are not required to wear a face covering, nor are individuals who are unable to wear a face covering due to a medical condition; children ages 2 and under must not wear them.
