I think (and hope) the Super Bowl is going to be a very good game. The Bengals and Rams seem to be very well matched teams. The game should be high scoring because both teams have high-powered offenses. This game will be determined by which defensive line can put more pressure on the quarterback, because neither Matthew Stafford or Joe Burrow can run very well. I do not have a favorite, but I think it would be cool if the Rams become the first team with a true home-field advantage to win the Super Bowl. Last year, Tampa Bay Buccaneers did it, but they did not have much of an advantage because of the lack of hometown fans due to COVID restrictions. This year will be a lot different, and I hope it lives up to the expectations.

Even though the U.S. has gotten off to a slow start in terms of gold medals in the Olympics, I think ultimately we will prevail in the overall medal count at the end. The U.S. is going to dominate all the snowboarding and X Games events. Nathan Chen won one of the main marquee events of the Olympics in the men’s figure skating and was much deserved. We are definitely going to win a medal in women’s hockey. I just don’t know which medal yet. I hope Mikaela Shiffrin recovers from a slow start in skiing to win at least one gold medal for her sake. She has faced a lot of media pressure being one of the most famous Olympians from four years ago and they need to back off! Go USA.

The last big news for today is the trade of Philadelphia 76ers players Ben Simmons, Andre Drummond and Seth Curry to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for James Harden and Paul Milsap. I have mixed feelings about this because James Harden has an abrasive personality, but he is a great player (who has never won a championship). If he meshes well with Joel Embiid and they both stay healthy, the 76ers may well be playing deep into May or June 2022 toward a championship. We will see.
