Paradise Pub soup contest supports food programs for needy

February 28, 2026

Paradise Pub hosted its fifth annual Soup Competition Jan. 24. Restaurants from all over competed to win bragging rights for the best soup of 2026.

The winning soup was a brisket French onion created by Chef Ashley Paulson of Holly Lake Grill.

Together with Paradise Companies and Skeeter Strong Foundation, Paradise Pub donated $4,000 to support the Long Neck Methodist Church Soup Kitchen and Mobile Food Pantry. The soup kitchen is open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Mondays, and anyone is welcome to come in for a meal of hot soup and or sandwich. The mobile food pantry is every first Thursday of the month, and the next food distribution is set for March 5. Anyone in need may contact Teri Lowinger at 302-945-5263.
