The Parker Group to open downtown Milford office

The Parker Group, a local real estate company, recently announced it will be expanding its footprint with a new office in Milford.

The group will occupy the first-floor retail space of the iconic Pikus Building, located at the corner of North Walnut and Northwest Front streets in historic downtown Milford.

Built in the 1840s, the Pikus Building is one of the oldest in the City of Milford. It was named after the Pikus family, who operated a beloved local shoe store named Lou’s Bootery from the location for almost 70 years. After sitting vacant for a year, it was purchased in 2016 by local investor Dan Bond and restored to its current condition.

The owners of The Parker Group, Dustin and Rachel Parker, purchased the historic Derrickson Building at 27 S. Walnut St., Milford in 2021 and had originally planned to rehabilitate that space. However, when the location in the Pikus Building became available, and another investor expressed interest in purchasing the Derrickson project, it became a mutually beneficial exchange for the two local businesses. The Pikus Building offers a prime location with maximum visibility for The Parker Group’s growing team.

The Parker Group plans to open its new office location in early 2023.
