Pedals in Bloom floral bike display returns to Lewes Beach
Bikes brimming with spring blooms are back to bring smiles to people’s faces as they walk or bike along Savannah Road on the way to and from the beach, on the east side of the Lewes-Rehoboth Canal drawbridge.
The whimsical temporary art project, Pedals in Bloom, was created by Art in Bloom in 2023. Volunteers repurposed three donated bicycles by spray-painting and transforming them into an eye-catching attraction that houses living plants.
The display has been transformed again this year by the team from Rays Produce and Flowers, who donates and plants a rotation of spring, summer and fall flowers. Rays Produce and Flowers has provided the botanical flourish since the project began.
“It’s our pleasure to work with Art in Bloom, and to give back to the great community of Lewes,” said Emily Keyser-Gofus, owner of Rays Produce and Flowers.
