The Phillies are in good shape for next year

November 11, 2022

Next year’s expectations for the Phillies should be pretty high since they only need three things to happen during the off season. The team needs to acquire a fourth starter to make the rotation stronger. They also need a second baseman or shortstop from free agency. They will keep Bryson Stott at either shortstop or at second base depending on who they get. The final need is a healthy Bryce Harper. Let's hope all three things come to pass, because next year is going to be a tough fight again in the division with the New York Mets and Atlanta Braves.

The Philadelphia Eagles will hope to continue their undefeated season on Monday Night Football against the Washington Commanders. They better pay attention to this game, because I think the Commanders might treat this like a Super Bowl because they are currently in last last place, and if they don't start winning now, they are not going to make the playoffs.

I hope that Josh Allen, the quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, is not hurt very badly because the Bills have a chance to go deep in the playoffs this year just like the Eagles. In fact, the Bills had a lot better odds to make the playoffs going into the season than the Eagles probably did.

The men’s soccer World Cup is only two weeks away. I am quite confused and frustrated that the English Premier League is still continuing their season through this weekend. I think that will have a negative effect on the quality of play in the tournament for almost all of the country's teams who have Premier League players because they are losing valuable practice time together. I think the U.S. team is going to have a difficult time advancing into or past the Round of 16 because they have not been able to score enough goals in their pre-tournament matches. The U.S. is grouped with England, Wales and Iran, all quality teams. Let's hope they get a little lucky in the first round.
