Playoff baseball for the Phillies

October 7, 2022

This past Monday, by winning the first game against the Houston Astros in the last series of the regular season, the Philadelphia Phillies broke their 11-year drought and made the playoffs! Barely, but they did it.

They will be playing the St. Louis Cardinals in a three-game series with all the games being played in St. Louis. If the team wants a chance to advance, their offense has to show up! Zack Wheeler and Aaron Nola are most likely going give them a chance to win the first two games. Regardless of what happens this year, expectations for the Phillies for next year will be a good bit higher.

The games will be on ABC and ESPN Friday through Sunday. Good luck, Phillies!

The Eagles persevered through terrible weather to defeat the Jacksonville Jaguars by the score of 29-21 this past weekend. The Eagles’ defensive and offensive lines both played quite well in the game. The Eagles’ offense proved it can run the ball for most of the game, if needed. You never know, this could be good practice for late December or January football. The Eagles’ defense took advantage of the Jaguars’ five turnovers, and the team proved they can come back from a 14-point deficit at the end of the first quarter. The Eagles should remain the last undefeated team in the NFL after this week because they’re playing the disappointing Arizona Cardinals. However that's not a given, so let's hope it's a great game and maybe, just maybe, they will finally be on TV locally! Go Eagles.
