Publishing discussion for writers set Jan. 13
The Rehoboth Beach Writers Guild, in partnership with Lewes Public Library, will welcome author Lauren Grodstein for a breakfast conversation on Navigating the Path to Publication at 10 a.m., Monday, Jan. 13, at the library, 111 Adams Avenue in Lewes.
Grodstein is the author of several bestselling books, including “We Must Not Think of Ourselves,” “The Explanation for Everything” and “A Friend in the Family.”
She and RBWG Executive Director Maribeth Fisher will engage in a wide-ranging chat about getting a book in shape for publication, and the ins and outs along the road from manuscript to hardcover. Participants are encouraged to bring questions and hypotheticals for discussion.
“Lauren cares passionately about all things writing and understands that publishing success stems from all those other things – the hours of revision, the research into agents, the willingness to hear critique,” said Fischer. “Beyond that, Lauren cares about the writers themselves, even the ones she hasn't yet met. Any writer – or reader, really – who cares about how books happen will be inspired, encouraged, excited by her talk."
Registration is required. To sign up, go to lewes.lib.de.us or call 302-645-2733. Light refreshments will be served.
Grodstein is a professor of English at Rutgers University-Camden, where she teaches in the MFA program in creative writing.
