The Rehoboth Art League is partnering with Easterseals for a special exhibition showcasing artwork from participants in the Easterseals Artfulness program.
An opening reception for Artfulness with Easterseals will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, May 29, in the Paynter Studio at 12 Dodds Lane, Henlopen Acres.
The Easterseals Artfulness program sponsors local artists who work with participants to discover the joy of art. Together, they experience community activities at local art museums and galleries, and their creations are exhibited at art shows throughout the community.
Rehoboth Art League instructors travel to the Easterseals office in Georgetown to provide workshops for participants in the adult day program and the intellectual disabilities program. Easterseals makes a lasting difference each year by providing essential services to children and adults with disabilities, older adults, veterans and their families.
Since its founding in 1938, the Rehoboth Art League has worked to provide arts experiences through events, exhibitions and education programs. Through its visual arts outreach program, the art league is able to bring arts experiences to Sussex County areas that are most in need of opportunity.
Developed in response to cuts made to arts education in public schools, RAL’s outreach program now serves hundreds of students each year, including regularly working with Easterseals. During scheduled classes, art league instructors travel all over Southern Delaware to work with children, seniors and underserved populations to offer free arts education.
