RAL beginners’ pottery wheel throwing class starts Feb. 13

February 7, 2020

The Rehoboth Art League will host Wheel Throwing for Beginner Potters, a series of six classes from 7 to 9 p.m., Thursdays, Feb. 13 to March 19.

Local potter Jeff Stickle will teach the techniques of throwing pottery on the wheel. Attendees will learn about the nature of clay, the pottery process, and firing and glazing, but this course is primarily hands-on working with clay. By the end of the course, each student will have made at least a bowl and a mug. With the skills learned, participants should have the knowledge and ability to progress to more advanced artwork. The cost is $180 per person for members and $215 for nonmembers. Registration fee includes the cost of clay as well as glazing and firing of pieces.

To register, go to www.rehobothartleague.org or call 302-227-8408, Ext. 112. All classes are held at the Rehoboth Art League, 12 Dodds Lane, Henlopen Acres.

The Rehoboth Art League is a nonprofit organization dedicated to making art accessible to all. This program is made possible, in part, by a grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts. The division promotes Delaware arts events on www.DelawareScene.com.
