Raymond Clark, National Guard veteran

Raymond Irving Clark, 77, of Bridgeville, passed away peacefully at his home Wednesday, April 10, 2019. He was born Jan. 5, 1942, in Danvers, Mass.

Raymond was a member of the United States National Guard for 25 years; he served as a cook in the military. After the military, he worked at United Shoe in Beverly, Mass., until it closed. He went on to work at Wetterau Inc. and Cressey Dockham and Co. in Andover, Mass., where he retired and then moved to Delaware. He loved spending time with his family and friends, and was an avid sports fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox.

Raymond was the beloved husband of the late Ann Shirley Clark, and son of the late Eleanor Eaton Clark and Raymond Glen Clark. He is survived by his daughter Maryanne Clark of Bridgeville; stepchildren, Sharon Bonneau and her husband Robert of Seaford, Curtis Carneal and his wife Alisha of Seaford, Darlene Carneal of Dover, and Duane Carneal and his wife Suzanne of Cambridge, Md.; one sister, Juanita Lajoie of Dixon, Mo.; two brothers, Jeffrey Clark and his wife Diane of Salem, Mass., and Steven Clark and his wife Shirley of Harrison, Maine; brother-in-law, William Murphy of Seaford; several nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Wayne Clark and Leonard Clark.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 16, at Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws St., Bridgeville, where friends may call beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Raymond's memory to Vitas Hospice Care, 100 Commerce Drive, Suite 302, Newark DE 19713.
