Reading the Cape Gazette at Bryce Canyon National Park

January 31, 2024

Cape Gazette readers Jim and Ceci Futrell recently enjoyed an adventurous 10-day trip, visiting five national parks, four state parks, and two Navajo Tribal Lands in Utah and Arizona. Jim and Ceci are shown here enjoying time in southwestern Utah at Bryce Canyon National Park, which was settled by Mormon pioneers in the 1850s and named after Ebenezer Bryce, who homesteaded there in 1874. One major feature of the park despite its name, is not a canyon, but a collection of giant natural amphitheaters along the eastern side of the Paunsaugunt Plateau.
