Reading the Cape Gazette in Fiordland National Park, New Zealand with fellow Delawareans

March 23, 2019

In January, Kevin and Ellen Todd of Millsboro were surprised to meet fellow Delawareans Ian Sydell of Lewes and his grandson Matt Cecchett of Camden-Wyoming while on a tour of Australia and New Zealand.

The new friends went snorkeling at the Great Barrier Reef in Australia where they enjoyed seeing turtles, black-tipped sharks and colorful fish. Hartley’s Croc Farm was exciting with an up-close visit with crocodiles, kangaroos, wallabies and the cuddly koalas.

New Zealand was a pastoral delight with its sheep, cattle and goats grazing on the rolling hills leading up to Mt. Cook, the highest peak in the Southern Alps. On the way to Milford Sound, they took a break by a waterfall to read the Gazette. Pictured from (l-r) are Kevin Todd, Ellen Todd, Matthew Cecchett, and Ian Sydel.

The Todds traveled on to Fiji for some rest and relaxation in tropical paradise, but will meet up with Ian and Ma.
