Reading the Gazette in Pompeii, Italy

February 23, 2019

Chris and Mike Kelly taking a break reading the Cape Gazette while in Pompeii, Italy. Pompeii along with Herculaneum was buried under 13 to 20 feet of volcanic ash in the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79. Many of the inhabitants were also buried before they could escape. Largely preserved under the ash, the excavated city offers a unique snapshot of Roman life, frozen in time at the moment it was buried.
