Rebecca-Joy Lyons, friend to all

June 9, 2025

Rebecca-Joy Lyons left this world surrounded by her family Tuesday, June 3, 2025. She was born Feb. 17, 1989, in Beeville, Texas. Rebecca-Joy was raised in Milton by her parents, Patricia Lyons Wilcox and the late Gerald Lyons.

Rebecca-Joy or Becky, as most knew her, was a caring person. She loved to sing, and during her teenage years, you could find her at Milton Theatre or Possum Point Players. Becky loved making people laugh. She was known for her ‘Dad Jokes’ by her dialysis nurses. Unfortunately, Becky made choices in her adulthood that brought her down a rough path. Even still, she touched lives everywhere she went. Becky was a friend to all, even in her darkest times. Becky loved animals and was always trying to bring strays home as a child. Her favorite was her cat, Summer, who was her constant companion for years.

Becky was preceded in death by her father, Gerald Lyons; paternal grandparents, Frances and Bernard Lyons; and maternal grandmother, Ruth Henley. She leaves behind her two children, Maykayla Smith and Malachi ‘Kyle’ Juarbe; mother and stepfather, Patricia and Dan Wilcox of Milford; siblings Jon Gassaway (Sherrie) of Maryland, Dustie Johnson (Mark) of Michigan, Wayne Skinner (Amy) of Oklahoma, Anna Simpson (John) of Milton, Luis Cisneros (Michelle) of California, Katherine Lyons of Missouri, Joseph Lyons of Harbeson, Sean Lyons of Maryland, Tonya Lyons of Virginia, and Shelby-Lynn Lyons of Milford; her favorite cousin, Robyn Garrett (Dave) of Milton; and many other cousins, nieces and nephews.

The Celebration of Life will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Becky’s name to the SAFE Project- Stop the Addiction Fatality Epidemic charity.
