The 18th annual Sea Colony Turkey Trot 5K to benefit Special Olympics Delaware attracted a record number of racers and walkers Nov. 28, with 258 recording times.
“I can’t explain it,” said Race Director Tim Bamforth. “Penned-up people breaking out from the pandemic could be a reason. I see our numbers looking good going forward.”
The race was fast at the front, with 28-year-old Tyler Muse of Bel Air, Md., running an “easy” time of 15:20.
Brynn Crandell, 15, the Delaware Division II state cross country champion, placed fourth overall and was the overall female champion in 18:36.8.
William Barth, 49, of Chester Springs, Pa., won the male masters title in 18:40. Varia Lvova, 44, of Arlington, Va., was overall female masters champion in 20:49.
