Rehoboth Beach recognizes Burt Dukes for years of service
Became city’s first finance director in 2018

Rehoboth Beach commissioners and City Manager Taylour Tedder recognized Finance Director Burt Dukes for his years of service to the city during a commissioner meeting Dec. 19. He is retiring Friday, Jan. 2.
Dukes grew up on Stockley Street in Rehoboth Beach. He left for schooling and for the early part of his career, but he and his wife have lived full time in the city since the early 1990s. He began working for the city part time in 2007, before becoming the city’s first finance director in 2018.
Prior to working for the city, Dukes also served on the planning commission for six years.
