Rehoboth Beach VegFest to screen environmental documentary

February 15, 2015

Rehoboth Beach Film Society and VegRehoboth recently announced their joint presentation of "Cowspiracy: The Sustainability Secret" as a kickoff event for Rehoboth Beach VegFest 2015. The film screening will take place at 8 p.m., Friday, June 12, at the Atlantic Sands Hotel and Conference Center on the Boardwalk in Rehoboth Beach.

"Cowspiracy: The Sustainability Secret," first released nationwide in 2014, is a groundbreaking feature-length environmental documentary following filmmaker Kip Andersen as he uncovers a most destructive industry facing the planet today - animal agriculture - and investigates why the world’s leading environmental organizations are too afraid to talk about it.

As eye-opening as "Blackfish" and as inspiring as "An Inconvenient Truth," this shocking yet humorous documentary reveals the devastating environmental impact large-scale factory farming has on the planet and offers a path to global sustainability for a growing population.

"We are happy to be the co-host for the Rehoboth VegFest film screening this year," said Sue Early, executive director of Rehoboth Beach Film Society. "VegFest has become an important community event, and this film's emphasis on sustainability is particularly relevant to our area."

"We are so thrilled to be partnering with Rehoboth Beach Film Society for this event," said Tara Sheldon, VegRehoboth vice president. "They are a beloved part of the fabric of our community, and their reputation for excellence speaks for itself."

"Cowspiracy" will be shown following the VegFest Kickoff Vegan Dinner at the Atlantic Sands Hotel. Tickets may be purchased individually for the film and/or the dinner, or may be purchased as a combination. Film tickets are $10 each; early-discount price is $8 each until April 1.
