Rehoboth Beach Yoga to offer meditation and yoga programs

October 18, 2021

A free introduction to meditation session will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 23, at Rehoboth Beach Yoga.

Participants will discover an easy pathway to deep meditation in just one hour. Attendees will learn to dive deep inward, exploring their innermost essences by using the shortcuts that yogis specialize in. Named Svaroopa Vidya, this meditation methodology is based in yoga’s ancient teachings coming from the Himalayan sages.

Attendees will learn about the goal and purpose of meditation as well as the how-to basics. Questions will be answered and participants will go home ready to incorporate meditation practice into their lives.

To register, go to rehobothbeachyoga.com, select the schedule page, scroll down and click on the class. Program participants will receive a 20% discount off a three-class meditation series to be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Thursdays, Nov. 4, 11 and 18.

Also Oct. 23, a half-day program will be offered from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. Attendees will participate in three hours of yoga poses plus an hour of chanting and meditation. Anyone can attend; it’s all user-friendly while being deeply effective and profoundly nourishing. Meditation instruction is included, along with personal attention in poses for maximum benefits. The standard rate is $101. To register, go to svaroopa.org/hdp-rehoboth-211023.

Both of these programs are taught by Swami Satrupananda Saraswati. Satrupa began practicing yoga and meditation in Calgary, Alberta, Canada in the 1990s. As an undergraduate student, she spent some time in China and Southeast Asia where she deepened her interest in Eastern spirituality. This pursuit led Satrupananda to Svaroopa yoga and to her Sadguru: Gurudevi Nirmalananda, and ultimately to becoming a swami, a yoga monk.
