Rehoboth installs crosswalk signage on Rehoboth Avenue
Flashing beacons used at Christian Street and State Road intersections, city hall
March 31, 2021
Rehoboth Beach has installed flashing beacons at three crosswalks on Rehoboth Avenue – the crosswalk in front of city hall, the intersection with Christian Street and the intersection with State Road. There are no traffic lights at those three intersections.
The rapid-flashing, rectangular-beacon crosswalk systems are solar-powered and activated by pedestrians when they want to cross a street. The bright-yellow signage and the flashing lights are designed to catch drivers’ attention. These flashing-beacon crosswalk systems have been installed in other areas around Delaware, including along Route 1.
