The Rehoboth Beach Public Library recently shared an update on its downtown location remodeling, which will provide an enhanced, modern space designed to better serve the community’s growing needs. Construction is progressing smoothly and is anticipated to finish later this year.
Over 70% of the necessary renovation funds has been raised, thanks to federal and state funding, and an outpouring of community support. Getting the additional 30% will allow the library to complete the renovation, including the current area of operations. The library continues to invite community members to play a meaningful role in bringing this vision to life.
“This renovation represents an investment not just in a building, but in the future of our community,” said Library Board President Kay Wheatley. “We are grateful for the incredible support received so far and welcome others to share the pride we all feel in this project.”
The renovated library will feature improved accessibility, updated technology, flexible gathering spaces, and expanded areas for children, teens and community programming.
Naming opportunities are still available for individuals, families and organizations who wish to leave a lasting legacy through their support. All donors will be recognized on a permanent donor board within the newly renovated space.
