Rehoboth should be issuing a refund to us

October 27, 2017

I am writing this letter as a warning to all homeowners in Rehoboth Beach. Make sure you are being taxed the correct amount for your refuse pickup. For 10 years we paid the refuse tax of full-time residents, rather than for part-time residents. I only became aware of the difference when I read a short piece in the Cape Gazette. When I contacted the city manager I was told there would be no refund of the $250 we overpaid for 10 years. It took six weeks to hear back from the city manager. If you are a part-time resident - you should only be paying $250/year - not $275. I am very disappointed with the city not making good on their mistake.
