Rehoboth Summer Children's Theatre sets 'The Jungle Book' July 7

Three plays rotate through Tuesday, Sept. 1
July 1, 2015

Wolves and tigers and bears, oh my! The Rehoboth Summer Children’s Theatre will present "The Jungle Book" at 7 p.m., Tuesday, July 7, and Tuesday, July 28. When a small boy is lost in the Indian forest, the friendly animals Baloo the Bear and Akela the Wolf protect the lad from the fearsome tiger, Shere Khan. There is adventure and fun for all ages in this spirited production of Rudyard Kipling’s classic story.

In addition to Baloo, Akela and Shere Khan, audiences will enjoy a veritable zoo of delight with Ka the Snake, Tabaqui the Hyena and Bagheera the Panther joining the action. Mowgli the man-cub is there too. Two actors bring all of these fanciful characters to life in a fast-paced, one-hour show.

"The Jungle Book" was written and directed by RSCT founder Steve Seyfried. Since 1980 Seyfried has guided this much-loved company along with his wife and co-founder, Elise.

Taking on all the roles in "The Jungle Book" are Samantha Ricchiuti and Alex McCormick. This talented pair will also be seen the other two shows on the schedule, "Cinderella" and "The Snow Queen." All three plays rotate through Tuesday, Sept. 1.

The productions of the Rehoboth Summer Children’s Theatre are performed on stage at Epworth United Methodist Church, 19285 Holland Glade Road, Rehoboth Beach. The church is one block off Coastal Highway between the Seaside Outlets and Tomato Sunshine Market. There is plenty of free parking.

Tickets are $10 for everyone age 3 and older. To purchase tickets, call 302-227-6766 or go to www.rehobothchildrenstheatre.org where the complete schedule can be found as well.
