Republican candidate for Attorney General bows out of race
August 14, 2018
Peggy Marshall Thomas, the sole Republican candidate for Attorney General, has dropped out of the race leaving a GOP vacancy for the state position.
The Harbeson resident filed for the seat July 9, and she had campaigned for the position until her resignation Aug. 13.
“After talking with my family this weekend, I have made the very difficult decision to withdraw from the Attorney General race,” she said in a statement.
Marshall Thomas thanked everyone who worked on her campaign, but offered no further explanation why she withdrew from the race.
“Ms. Marshall Thomas will have no further comment on the issue and asks that the media respect her privacy,” the statement read.
