Riding the rails in Japan with the Cape Gazette

July 14, 2019

Cape Gazette readers Brian and Sarah Gillespie recently travelled to Japan for a 2-week trip visiting family members and doing some sightseeing. They visited Tokyo, Osaka and Nara, Japan which are all located on the main island of Honshu.

“One of the true joys of visiting this country was riding the Japanese Rail System, which is among the best in the world,” said Brian.

Shown here is the Asakadai Station from where anyone can easily travel around the country, whether by JR trains, the Tokyo Metro or the Shinkansen (Bullet Train).

“Note the blue car in the back getting ticketed for illegal parking; feels right at home,” said Brian.
