Ronald W. Clark, active Mason

Ronald W. Clark, 78, of Millsboro, formerly of North Potomac, Md., passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at Christiana Care Hospital in Newark with his family by his side.

Ron was born in Terre Haute, Ind., Dec. 14, 1940, son of the late Gerald and Anna (McCoy) Clark.  He managed insurance offices before working with the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association in their benefits and risk management department, retiring with 30 years of service. 

He was a Mason for over 50 years and also served in the Shriners, the Scottish Rite and the York Rite.  Ron was currently a member of Jefferson Lodge No. 15 A.F. & A.M. in Lewes and Franklin Lodge No. 12 A.F. & A.M. in Georgetown.  He was also active in the United Methodist Church his entire life.  He was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church in Rehoboth Beach, and an affiliate member of the Long Neck United Methodist Church in Millsboro.  

After moving to the Independence development in Millsboro, he enjoyed his morning health and fitness routine in the gym or at the pool.  He was also a member of the Veterans Club at the development and loved to play pool in the clubhouse, where he just finished third in the community tournament.  Ron enjoyed going to the movies and spending time with his family.  He was proud of his accomplishment of donating over 19 gallons of blood to the Red Cross.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Clark, and a daughter-in-law, Whitney Clark.  He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Jane (Watts) Clark; three children, Deborah Becker and her husband Lee of Basking Ridge, N.J., Denise Clark of Annapolis, Md., and Stephen Clark of Fairfax, Va.; five grandchildren, Michael Hill and his wife Sarah of Bowie, Md., Wesley Hill and his wife Rachel of Richmond, Va., Emily Becker of Massapequa, N.Y., Jack Becker of Basking Ridge and Taylor Hill of Annapolis; a great-granddaughter Addison Hill of Richmond; and a sister, Barbara Schoen of Alvin, Texas.

A Masonic service followed by Ron’s memorial service will be held at noon, Tuesday, March 19, at Long Neck United Methodist Church, 32051 Long Neck Road, Millsboro, where friends and family may gather after 11 a.m.  Interment will be held privately at Epworth Cemetery in Rehoboth Beach.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Ron’s name to the Jefferson Lodge Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 184, Lewes, DE 19958.
