Saddened by Lewes Diner closure

October 17, 2025

I wanted to take a moment to express how saddened my family and I are to hear about the closing of the Lewes Diner. This news truly breaks our hearts. The diner has always given off a warm, welcoming, homelike vibe that’s hard to find anywhere else. Every visit felt like home!

The food was phenomenal, but it was more than that. The owner was always incredibly friendly, going out of his way to make every customer feel welcome. He would even put cartoons on for my kids, make it a point to say hello and somehow always remembered us each time we came in. That kind of warmth and genuine care is rare these days, and it meant a lot to us.

It’s disappointing to know that something as simple as a rent increase could take away such a beloved local spot. Places like Lewes Diner are what give our town its charm and heart, and its loss will be felt deeply by many.
