Sailing the British Virgin Islands with great friends and captivating views
In June Thom Nobile and Kay Carnahan of Lewes sailed throughout the British Virgin Islands on the catamaran Donna J, chartered from The Moorings based on Tortola. They traveled with four friends: Bridget Reischl and Kathy Murray of Walla Walla, WA, Chris Weaver of Appleton, WI and the Cape Gazette from Lewes, DE. Skippered by Captain Julian Hodge, they visited Norman Island, Virgin Gorda, Cooper Island, Anegada, Jost Van Dyke and Peter Island. While Hurricane Irma’s mark is still evident, the people of the British Virgin Islands are resilient and ready to welcome visitors. The stunning natural beauty is unchanged. Thom and Kay are pictured here while anchored at Jost Van Dyke in front of the Soggy Dollar, which was nearly destroyed by Hurricane Irma, but now rebuilt and just as popular as ever!
