Savoring Italy with the Cape Gazette

Marti and David Garrett, along with the Cape Gazette, participated in an Italian Elegance Tour this past summer. Marti and David are shown here during their visit to the Chianti Hills of Tuscany. While in the region, they enjoyed dining at the Machiavelli Winery. Their journey began in Rome and continued through Florence, Pisa, Portofino, and Cortina—host of the 2026 Winter Olympics. Winding down from the Dolomites, a Prosecco vineyard tour and tasting was a highlight in the Conegliano region. Venice was the final stop on their 10-day tour, where they visited the Murano Glass Works, lunched on the fishing island of Burano, glided down the Grand Canal, and enjoyed live music in St. Mark’s Square.
