April 7, 2016

A team from the U.S. Small Business Administration got to see firsthand what Rehoboth Beach’s Henlopen City Oyster House had to offer.

Named the SBA's top small business in Delaware, Henlopen City Oyster House owners Chris Bisaha and Joe Baker served up lunch for SBA officials. The duo will be honored with winners from other states and have a chance to be named national small business of the year at a formal, private ceremony in Washington, D.C. Sunday, May 1.

Bisaha and Baker started Henlopen City Oyster House six years ago with help from an SBA loan. In all, 54 small business of the year winners from all 50 states plus Guam, Puerto Rico and Washington, D.C.

John Fleming, director of the SBA’s Delaware office, said the award shows the federal government works with small business owners to make success stories like Henlopen City Oyster House happen.
