Sidelines: Do the 76ers have a chance?

April 26, 2019

On Saturday, the 76ers will play the Toronto Raptors in the next round of the NBA playoffs. I don’t have a very good feeling about this, mostly because of the health of Joel Embiid. He is definitely the 76ers best player, but he is clearly injured. Playing time for him has been a game time decision. He’s not going to get that much better at this point and will probably need surgery on his knees after the season is over.

The Philadelphia Phillies’ performance from game to game has been all over the place. Hopefully some consistency can be found within the team dynamics. It's hard to be optimistic of my hopes for their overall season if they keep this kind play moving into the next few weeks. They play the lackluster Marlins this weekend in Philly and should be able to bounce back and get a good winning streak going.

Golf this weekend is a rare team event. This is the Zurich Classic that's held in New Orleans every year. This event doesn't generally attract the top players but it's an opportunity for the rest of the field to have a chance to win some good money and get a two-year exemption. The weather has been a bit problematic already but the weekend forecast looks great.

See you on the sidelines!
