Sign up by April 9 for Rehoboth Art League docent training
The Rehoboth Art League is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to train for the 2026 Homestead Docent Program. They can be part of the league’s first line of contact, talking to visitors who are touring RAL for the first time or engaging with people who are coming home to the beach. Volunteer docents can meet new friends while learning about art and culture.
The historic Homestead, originally built in 1743 by Peter Marsh, remains the central part of the art league campus. The house boasts a rich history, having served tenant farmer families for more than two centuries, then becoming home to Rehoboth Art League founder Louise Corkran in the 1930s. The Homestead is maintained by the nonprofit Rehoboth Art League and made accessible to the public at no cost to enable a better understanding of local history and how the regional arts scene developed. The Homestead docents offer their time, energy and knowledge to staff the building each year from May through October.
A meeting will be held from 12 to 2 p.m., Monday, April 13, in the Chambers Building on the RAL campus where interested parties can learn about becoming docents. Anyone wishing to attend should RSVP on or before Thursday, April 9, by emailing Exhibitions Director Nick Serratore, nick@rehobothartleague.org.
