The 2015 Slam Dunk to the Beach brought more than 12,000 people to the Cape Henlopen High School stands and saw several of the brightest young stars in America. Since the December event, V.J. King, an All-Tournament Team selection from Paul VI (Va.), has been named as a McDonald’s All-American. Mohamed Bamba, a participant from Westtown School (Pa.), is now the second-ranked overall player in the class of 2017, according to Scout.com. The return to Lewes will give fans another chance to catch the best prospects in all of high school basketball.
“We are excited to return back to the beach for a third straight year. The support we have received from Cape Henlopen School District, Sussex County, fans and sponsors over the past two years has been overwhelmingly positive,” said Delaware Sports Commission Executive Director Chris Giacomucci. “We look forward to continuing this growth, attracting more visitors and teams to Delaware, and solidifying Slam Dunk to the Beach as one of the premier high school basketball events in the country.”
