The Smashing Pumpkins may have been big in the 1990s, but actually smashing pumpkins was definitely in style at Big Chill Surf Cantina Nov. 9 for the annual Sling N’ Squash competition.
The event brought together men and women to see who could throw a pumpkin the farthest. The competition lasted throughout the day and left a trail of pumpkin seeds and broken gourds in its wake.
At the end, the top three competitors in each gender group competed against one another in a single-elimination throw-off.
