Southeastern Delaware Artists Studio Tour returns Nov. 8-9
The free, self-guided 29th Annual Southeastern Delaware Artists Studio Tour will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 8 and 9.
Tour attendees may choose to visit any or all the working studios of 13 acclaimed fine artists and artisans working in the fields of oil, pastel, watercolor and acrylic painting; mural art; textiles; glass blowing; jewelry making; ceramics; and wood turning.
This year’s lineup features a dynamic mix of artists, some of whom have participated in the tour since its founding in 1994. Several artists will offer live demonstrations, and a few will focus on youth engagement, inspiring the next generation of creatives through education and interaction.
A hallmark of the tour is the Tom and Pat Frey Memorial Art in the Hat raffle. In honor of two art advocates and longtime tour members, each participating artist donates a piece of original artwork for the raffle, with proceeds benefiting local school arts programs. To date, SEDAST has raised and donated more than $70,000 to help fulfill the needs of art teachers and support vibrant, creative classrooms throughout the area.
