Southern Delaware Orchestra performs at Sussex Academy
Students at the Sussex Academy secondary campus were treated to a special performance when Southern Delaware Orchestra played selections from its Winter Harmony holiday concert.
Traditional classics and modern tunes that had students singing along in their seats included “Greensleeves,” “The Festive Sounds of Hanukkah” and “A Christmas Festival.”
Southern Delaware Orchestra Music Director James Allen Anderson invited Head of School Kyle Bentley onstage to conduct “Sleigh Ride.”
Sussex Academy’s mission is to foster academic achievement and social responsibility in a small-school environment where students participate in a highly accelerated college preparatory program, which prepares them for the technological and global mindedness needed for the 21st century, and instills ethical conduct and service to others in their day-to-day lives.
