Sponsorships open for Do More 24 giving day March 2-3

November 28, 2022

United Way of Delaware and Spur Impact announced Do More 24 Delaware, the state’s premier 24-hour charitable giving event, will be held from 6 p.m., Thursday, March 2 to 6 p.m., Friday, March 3.

Last year’s event received more than 12,000 donations benefiting 452 participating nonprofits statewide. Do More 24 Delaware raised a record-breaking $2.6 million, increasing the three-year total to over $5 million.

Throughout the 24-hour fundraising marathon, donors can support their favorite Delaware nonprofits by donating through their individual fundraising pages on DoMore24Delaware.org. Each hour of the event will offer various cash prize awards to nonprofits based on different fundraising metrics, and all nonprofits that raise money will share in one of the event's stretch pools.

United Way of Delaware Chief Operations Officer Dan Cruce said, “We look forward to another highly successful event to provide support for Delaware’s nonprofits that contribute so much to the well-being of our communities. Last year’s amazing results demonstrated that their work is valued by thousands of donors statewide. Continued support is vitally needed by the hardworking organizations who are on the front lines changing lives and building communities every day.”

Charlie Vincent, executive director of Spur Impact Association, said, “The culture of philanthropy in Delaware and the Delaware nonprofit sector depends on the generosity of many individual donors. We are proud that so many Delaware nonprofits participate and activate their donors and supporters – particularly younger board members and donors – around this great event. Our goal for 2023 is to get even more Delawareans to support and donate to their favorite nonprofits as part of this year's giving day.”

All 501(c)(3) nonprofits serving Delaware are eligible and encouraged to participate in the March 2023 event. To register a nonprofit, go to domore24delaware.org.

In 2022, the event's largest supporters included Delaware Division of the Arts, Longwood Foundation, Welfare Foundation, Laffey-McHugh Foundation, Barclays US Consumer Bank, Discover Bank and Chemours. Contributions from these and other sponsors made it possible for the nonprofits to win more than $600,000 in cash prizes and other grants through the event. Event sponsorships for 2023 start at $500, and the larger sponsors are promoted in different ways to the participating nonprofits, on social media, and through the event's 24-hour livestream.

Organizations interested in sponsoring this ever-growing event reaching thousands of Delawareans may contact the Do More 24 Delaware team at team@domore24de.org.
