Spring is here... Really!
Duke won the NCAA basketball championship on Monday night in a very exciting game over the Wisconsin Badgers, who very easily could have won the title as they had nine point lead in the second half. But Wisconsin was eventually overwhelmed by a great performance by two of Duke's freshman guards, Tyus Jones and Grayson Allen.
Overall, Duke University's freshman scored an amazing 60 out of their 68 points in the game. Even though I picked Wisconsin to win the tournament, I am not that disappointed with the outcome. Duke had an outstanding season as well. I just wanted to pick one of the less obvious teams to win the tournament this year. I came pretty close.

The "golf season" officially begins this week with the Masters tournament in Augusta. Tiger Woods has come back to play and I really hope he at least has a good showing. I will be amazed if he has any chance to win the actual tournament given his lack of competitive play in the last six weeks, and with how much he has been struggling when he was playing.
A realistic goal for him this week is to make the cut and play four rounds to just get back up to speed. I am hoping he can do that. You all know I am a Tiger fan.
The individuals who I think can actually win the tournament this week are defending champion Bubba Watson, Australia's Jason Day, and American phenom Jordan Spieth. Spieth finished second in his first Masters attempt last year. It would also be interesting if Phil Mickelson has a shot finishing close to the lead as well.
As I write this article at the end of day 1, Jason Day is tied for second and Jordan Spieth crushed the course with an 8 under par 64! That's the second lowest score in the history of the Masters. You all know where I will be over the next few days!

The baseball season has officially started and the Phillies are hanging on by a thread. In last night's game against the Boston Red Sox, the teams were playing in weather fit for October, not April. Our vaunted bullpen has to perform better! The Phillies almost blew a four to nothing lead in the eighth inning. The 4-2 final score preserved the Phils first win of the season. There's a lot of work ahead.
