Stacy Fitzgerald, had selfless spirit

October 1, 2021

Stacy Fitzgerald passed away surrounded by those she loved Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2021, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Stacy was born July 16, 1983, at Beebe Hospital in Lewes, and spent her life close to home and the beach.

She graduated from Cape Henlopen High School in 2001 and helped build our community through her work in many local businesses including the Rehoboth Art League, Java Beach Café, Synder’s Candy Store, Arena's Deli, Heidi Lowe Gallery, Half Full and Bottle & Brew Selections.

While her career has always centered around hospitality, the most important part of Stacy’s life was her adventures with friends and family. She traveled the world and explored Mexico, Puerto Rico, Bermuda, and France. She spent three months in Australia picking apples and learning to hunt kangaroos. She was always ready for a day at the beach, a glass of wine, and quality time. Stacy was well known for being available any time of day or night as a shoulder to cry on, and a person ready to celebrate the biggest (or smallest) achievements with no notice.

Her selfless spirit shone through to the end and will never be forgotten by those she met along her journey through life.

She will be lovingly remembered always by her parents, Keith and Gayle Fitzgerald of Rehoboth Beach; her fiancé and his beloved son, Mark and Marco Rieley of Millsboro; her sister, niece and nephew, Paige Fitzgerald, Ebin Moyer, and Dylan Peck, all of Rehoboth Beach; and her sister, brother-in-law, and nieces and nephews, Lee, Mike, Kathrine, Sophia, Lily, and Alec Roach, all of Longmont, Colo.; as well as an incredible number of friends and other family members.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 6, at Nassau Valley Vineyards, 32165 Winery Way, Lewes. Immediately following the services, the family invites everyone to join them for a luncheon where friends may visit with the family until 2 p.m. There will be a celebration of life on Stacy's birthday; details will be forthcoming.

The Fitzgerald Family would like to thank all the vendors and friends for their participation and support in the services memorializing Stacy.
