Stonewater Creek Men’s Club presents annual scholarships
The Stonewater Creek Men’s Club has announced the winners of its annual Bishop Nowotnik Memorial Scholarship Program.
Club officers presented the scholarship checks to recipients at the community clubhouse June 22, with each of the four winners awarded $500 toward their higher education expenses. Recipients are Connor Walker, who will be attending the University of Delaware; Brian Thens, who has been accepted at Clemson University; Connor Olivieri, who will be a student at the University of Tampa; and Jackson Whitcomb, who has been admitted to the University of Delaware Honors College.
The Men’s Club Scholarship Program is funded by community sponsorship of its Flags for Heroes display that is erected at the entrance to Stonewater Creek on patriotic holidays throughout the year.
The purpose of the Stonewater Creek Men’s Club is to create and promote a social atmosphere for club members, promote volunteerism and community spirit among its members, promote activities and services to benefit the Stonewater Creek community, and raise funds for local charitable purposes and community needs.
