Francisco Puac raced to the front of the pack early and stayed there, as he won the fifth annual Stop Drop and Run 5K at the Lewes Fire Department.
Puac cruised home in 16:57 to win by more than a minute. He was followed by Joe Franze in 18:10, Nathan Smith in 18:18, Pete Rosembert in 18:35 and masters winner Mike Sewell in 19:38.
Leann Pulchny of Lewes won the the women’s race and finished eighth overall in 20:09. She was followed by Carolyn Smith in 21:43, Katherine Franze in 21:53, Mardiny Ung in 22:47 and Michele Bailey in 25:17.
The race benefited the Lewes Fire Department.
The next Races2Run event will be the inaugural SoDel Cares 5K at 8:30 a.m., Saturday, June 15, at Bluecoast Seafood Grill & Raw Bar in Rehoboth Beach.
