Studios on Walnut to feature Marilyn Feldman art Feb. 23-24

February 9, 2019

Milton Arts Guild presents An Open Studio with Marilyn Feldman, the newest artist at the Studios on Walnut. Her recent pastels will be on exhibit from 5 to 7 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 23, and noon to 3 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 24, at 310 Walnut St.

Feldman studied art at the Corcoran Gallery School of Art and George Washington University in Washington, D.C. At GWU, she earned a degree in journalism and art, and was named to Phi Beta Kappa. She began exhibiting watercolors in Washington, and her work has been selected for juried exhibitions, including the Maryland Federation of Art’s Art on Paper show in Annapolis; Baltimore Watercolor Society’s Mid-Atlantic Regional Watercolor Exhibition; Strathmore Art Center in Rockville, Md.; and the Art Barn in Washington, D.C.

Now working in pastel and frequently inspired by the local landscape, Feldman was selected as the Rehoboth Art League Cottage Tour Artist for 2017, and she received an award at the RAL Members’ Show in July. She is a member of Potomac Valley Watercolorists and Rehoboth Art League, and splits her time between Lewes and Potomac, Md.

The Studios on Walnut in Milton was originally a garage where lawn mowers and farm equipment were repaired. It now houses the Milton Artists Guild Members Sales Gallery, classroom space and individual artists’ studios for printmaking, pastel and acrylics. It has become a creative space for artists to practice their craft, showcase their artwork and teach. For more information, go to www.miltonartsguild.org.
