Susan Jennifer Wolfe, Library of Congress retiree

Susan Jennifer Wolfe, 76, of Seaford passed away peacefully Sunday, Oct. 10,  2021, at her residence in the Manor House. She was born Jan. 29, 1945, in Bryn Mawr, Pa., daughter of the late Jack P. Wilson and Mary Ann (Praegner) Wilson.

Susan received a B.A. in Early American History and French from Albion College, Albion, Mich., and an M.S.L.S in Library Science from the Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C.

At the time of her death, she was retired as a manager from the Library of Congress after three tours of duty. During her business career she was also employed by the Charles County Community College; the Petroleum Reference Group; the American Petroleum Institute; the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts; the St. Mary’s County, Md. government and the St. Mary’s County Historical Society. Susan was a lifelong member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood and served as a Maryland P.E.O past state president.

Susan was predeceased by her wonderful husband of 44 years, Leroy R. Wolfe Jr.; her parents, Jack and Mary Wilson; her granddaughter, Rebecca Brown; and her grandson, Dustin Wood.

She is survived by  her four stepchildren: Beatrice A. Wolfe of Tallahassee, Fla., Deborah Ann Brown (Billy) of Niceville, Fla., Leroy R. Wolfe III of Defuniak Springs, Fla., and Catherine Marie Wolfe of Kinston, Ala., and their extended families; her brother, James S. Wilson of McLean, Va.; her niece Stephanie Ann (Wilson) Mendez of Minneapolis, Minn.; her nephew, John Robert Wilson of Mt. Bethel, Pa., and their wives, husbands and families.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson-Yates Funeral Home, a Parsell Family Funeral Home, Seaford.

She will be laid to rest in the Wilson Family plot next to her husband Leroy, at the Valley Forge Memorial Gardens in King of Prussia, Pa. A graveside service will be conducted Saturday, Nov. 6, at 11 a.m.
