Sussex Academy high school is set to present the comedy, “Noises Off,” at 7 p.m., Friday and Saturday, Oct. 28 and 29, at 21150 Airport Road, Georgetown.
A play within a play, “Noises Off” is a laughter-inducing ride through the ups and downs of a conflict-riddled acting company producing a show and trying to hold it together. This group includes a driven, passionate director and a troupe of below-par actors. The play they’re trying to put on is “Nothing On,” a farce full of slamming doors, mistaken identities and misplaced sardines. But as each of the acts moves from their final dress rehearsal to their closing show, audiences witness how the acting troupe’s personal conflicts interfere with their ability to hold the show together.
Although the show is wildly entertaining and comical to the average adult, it may not be suitable for people of younger ages. Parental discretion is advised due to vulgar language and sexual innuendos within the show.
Tickets for “Noises Off” are $10 for adults and $5 for students, and may be purchased at the door or online at showtix4u.com.
