Sussex County Habitat for Humanity recently held its annual volunteer appreciation event at the CHEER Center in Georgetown.
The event recognized the dedicated individuals who give their time, skills and energy to power Habitat’s mission of building homes, communities and hope across Sussex County. From construction sites to the ReStore, volunteers are the backbone of Sussex Habitat’s work.
The Bob Hesaltine Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Deb Snyder.
This year’s honorees included: Construction Rising Star, Kathy Solano; ReStore Rising Star, Jo Ann Hazard; Outstanding Mentor Ana Dittel; Outstanding Leadership in Development, Claude Whittaker; Board Member of the Year, Conor Nally; and Volunteers of the Year Amanda Lloyd, affiliate, Rick Coe, construction, and Mimi LeWinter, ReStore.
Sussex Habitat also recognized several of its construction “regulars” who achieved certificates of competency after completing extensive training and time on site. Representing the skill, dedication and teamwork that make Habitat’s building efforts possible, the volunteer honorees are Kathy Solano, Tina Nugent, Rick Coe, David Clayton, Arthur Goldvarg, Gregory Thomas and Robert Mead.
“Volunteers are truly the heart of Sussex County Habitat,” said Kevin Gilmore, CEO of Sussex County Habitat for Humanity. “We are proud to celebrate their achievements and deeply grateful for the passion and hard work they bring to our mission every single day.”
