The team at Swell Joe Coffee, a small-batch coffee roastery in Lewes, recently brewed up a simple gesture of gratitude to thank the grocery team at Lloyd’s Market in Lewes for keeping the shelves stocked and the lights on.

Karen Johnson, one of Swell Joe’s owners, popped into Lloyd’s Market on Easter Sunday to surprise the team with gift bags brimming with Swell Joe coffee beans.

“From one local business owner to another, we just wanted to let the team at Lloyd’s Market know how much we appreciate all that they are doing to serve our local community.” said Johnson. “Lloyd’s Market has been a dependable grocery staple for generations of Lewes residents. We speak for many in-town Lewes residents when we say we’re grateful for the convenience and friendly service that Lloyd’s provides every day.”

Lenny Pollitt, co-owner of Lloyd’s Market with his wife Amy and brother-in-law Darren, said they are overwhelmed and appreciative of all the recent showering of support from the community – from notes, signs and phone calls to gifts like free coffee from the team at Swell Joe. “We’ve definitely gone into overdrive to meet the increased needs of our local shoppers. Still, we’re humbled by the outpouring of support,” he said.
